Secret

The movie "Secret" is a Taiwanese movie which released in 2007. It is directed by Jay Chou who also stars as the main male character in the movie. The genre of movie is romance and fantasy movie.

The movie starts with the scene that Xianglun who is a main male character transfers to Tamkang Secondary School. Xianglun is a musically talented student who plays the piano so that he transfers to famous music school. On the first day of school, he hears a mysterious melody being played in the old piano building. Thus, he follows the melody and he meets Xiaoyu who is a student major in piano. He asks her about the song that she played but she tells him that it is a secret and cannot be told anyone.

However, in the middle of the movie, Xiaoyu disappears for five months and appears on graduation day and mysteriously disappear again. Xianglun asks around and discovers from Xianoyu’s mother and also, Xianglun asks his father who is a teacher at his school. Xianglun realise that Xiaoyu was a student from the class of 1979 who graduated 20 years ago.

Xianglun’s dad tells a story about Xiaoyu that she talked to him that she is able to travel forward in time to the present with the help of a piano piece called ‘Secret’ which is she played on an old piano in the old piano building. She had fallen in love with Xianglun when she took the time travel to future. When she came back to the normal time, her story spread in the school so that everyone thinks that she is mentally ill.

At the end of the movie, Xianglun goes to the old piano building and plays ‘Secret’. Therefore, Xianglun travels back to 1979 and meets Xianoyu at the school.

The movie "Secret" received six nominations at the 44th Golden Horse Awards and won Outstanding Taiwanese Film of the Year, Best Original Song and Best Visual Effects in 2007. Moreover, in 2008, the movie nominated for Best Asian Film at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards.
