This movie is a touched story about a dog named Hachi.
The film is based on a true story which happened in 1935 in Japan. The hero is
a professor named Parker. One day, Parker took an Akita dog back to home, which
neck had a collar with Japanese. Parker translated the symbol on the collar as "Hachi",
which means eight in Japan. Parker decided to call the dog Hachi. Parker's family got on well with Hachi. Parker wanted to teach Hachi to fetch the ball,
but Hachi refused to join in. A Japanese professor told Parker, Hachi would not
fetch the ball expect there are something special reasons. One day, when Parker
leaved for works, Hachi followed him. Hachi refused to leave until Parker walked him home. Later in
the afternoon, Hachi walks to the train station, to wait patiently for Parker to
back to home. Parker relents and walked Hachi to the station every morning.
After Parker's train departs, Hachi walked home by himself, returning in the afternoon to see his master's
train arrive and go home together. They continued to do this every day.
Vendors around the train station liked Hachi very much. One day Parker got ready to leave and Hachi
barked at him and refused to leave. When Parker does leave, Hachi chased him while
holding his ball. Parker was surprised but pleased that Hachi was finally
willing to play fetch the ball with him. Not wishing to be late for college,
Parker catch his train despite Hachi's barking. Later that day Parker was
teaching his music class, still holding Hachi's ball, when he suddenly suffered
a fatal heart attack and died. Hachi still waited Parker at the train station
patiently, thought he could not see Parker anymore. On that day, Hachi kept
waiting for Parker in snow in several hours,until Cate, the wife of Parker
brought him back to home. The next ten years, Hachi went to station everyday,
waited for Parker, no matter the weather were rain or snow. His loyalty was profiled in the local
newspaper,people who pass the station always gave him greetings. On one
snowing night, Hachi died alone. In Hachi's dream,beforee he died, Parker ran to
him, and called his name Hachi, they ran together,happily...
